Congratulations writers, we've lucked into 8 entries this week!

List of entries )

In order to vote, please reply to this post using the form provided. All comments are screened, and entries are listed in the order they were submitted. For your vote to qualify, you must fill out your entire voting card (all three spots) in order to be counted. First place votes are worth 3 points, second place votes are worth two points, and third place votes are worth one point. Meeting the bonus goal on an entry gets an extra point for that submission.

When voting, please copy/paste the ENTRY NUMBER and the FIC TITLE from the list above into the spot you're voting for (this prevents accidentally mis-numbering a vote and casting it for the wrong entry). It should look like this:

First Place: 61. Fic Title Here
Second Place: 88. Another Fic Title
Third Place: 47. Finally a third fic title goes here

Please note that you cannot vote for your own entry, and that votes cannot be made anonymously. You do not have to be a member of the community in order to vote, nor have submitted an entry for this week; everyone is welcome to participate in the voting. IP addresses are logged to prevent duplicate voting.

Voting closes Wednesday, May 18th, at 9:00PM EST.

Theme Prompt: #013 – Superstition
Title: Chasing Daylight
Fandom: Final Fantasy X | X-2
Rating: PG
Warnings: angst
Bonus: Yes
Word Count: 926
Summary: Spurned by his ex-lover once again, Tidus returns to Besaid and mulls over Sin's return. What could it mean? He didn't know; he spends the whole night worrying about what he can't change, before realizing what he can do. Takes place during the events of audio drama –Will–. Hints of Tidus/Yuna.

Tidus used to consider himself lucky, considering all the times he stood in front of Sin, surviving death and toxin when so many others had fallen. But now he wonders if that had been the Fayth’s doing all along. )

Hello everyone, sorry for my absence in getting up the voting. Due to some (good news!) real life things that are happening for me this week, plus the busy schedules everyone's having, I'm going to extend Challenge #013 - Superstition for another week, to run through until Monday, May 16th at the usual ending time, 9PM EST. I apologize that this is so last minute, especially to those who did get their entries in before the original deadline.

(On the other hand, this now carries the challenge through Friday the 13th, so that's kind of ironic and cool?)

Thanks everyone for understanding, and happy writing!

Challenge 013:
SUPERSTITION
(noun) 1. a belief or way of behaving that is based on fear of the unknown and faith in magic or luck. 2. a belief that certain events or things will bring good or bad luck.

Superstitions in life can come from all types of experiences. Some people are raised with certain ones, and others are taken on from the company we choose to keep. Any experience, good or bad, can form the basis of a superstition, whether having a lucky piece of clothing, a habitual gesture or motion, or a reflexive reaction. Write a story in which the character displays some sort of superstitious behaviour.

BONUS GOAL: Good Luck, Bad Luck

If your submission contains an instance of good or bad luck happening, that entry will earn an extra point to be tallied during voting!

Challenge ends Monday, May 9th May 16th at 9:00PM EST
• Post your submission as a new entry using the template in the profile
• Tag this week's entries as: [#] submission, 013 - superstition
• If you have questions about this challenge, please ask them here
