Challenge 246:
THE COMMON COLD

For many of us, it’s a well-known inconvenience. Sniffling, sneezing, coughing – it may not be dangerous in most cases, but the common cold can still ruin your day. Stock up on tissues, take some meds, get extra sleep if you have the time, and hope you don’t have to be particularly quiet for anything important!

But sometimes a cold can be a bigger problem. How do you treat a cold on a long journey when there’s nowhere to rest, or when the fate of the world hangs in the balance and there’s no time to be sick? What about characters who, for whatever reason, have never had a cold and have no idea what’s going on?

Write a story about a cold.

BONUS GOAL: “Oh, please, it’s not fatal.”
