[#003] Those Science Ninja Skills Still Come In Handy (Science Ninja Team Gatchaman)
Theme Prompt: Domestic Bliss
Title: Those Science Ninja Skills Still Come In Handy
Fandom: Science Ninja Team Gatchaman
Rating/Warnings: G, post series Ken/Jun, mention of Jinpei/Maria
Bonus: Yes
Word Count:
Summary: Galactor is gone and Ken and Jun are married in the suburbs. Despite this peaceful life, they still find a way to use those Science Ninja Skills that saved the world.
Jun was in the supermarket with her newspaper in hand, opened to the special deal that was available this day only; steak 50% off! The moment she saw the ad in the paper that morning, she got a gleam in her eye that her husband Ken caught right away. “Be sure you go easy on the other shoppers dear.”
“Of course I will Ken, I'm not Jinpei.” Jun said; her younger brother Jinpei had been banned from the local videogame store after getting into a scuffle with some other boy after the last copy of the same game he'd been waiting months for. She smiled as she remembered how Maria had chewed Jinpei out, assuring Jun that her little brother was in good hands.
“It's mine!” Another woman shouted, racing to the meat aisle where the last of the on-sale steaks was on display, and the woman had a good 30 foot head start on Jun! Fortunately, a quick leap overhead, and a tiny flashbomb at the woman's feet, and the steak was as good as hers. Still in her groove, Jun back flipped her way to the check-out line without dropping the steak or anything else.
“Will that be everything?” The grocer said, staring at Jun. The other customers in line stared at Jun as well. She then remembered that Science Ninja skills were not the norm and blushed.
“Yes, I believe it will.” Jun paid for her groceries, and the half-off steak, rode back home on her bike, and got a kiss from her husband.
“Ryu sent me a video someone recorded at the supermarket.” Jun groaned, Ryu did keep up on social media. “Thanks for going easy on them.”
“I said I would, didn't I?” Once she was in the kitchen though, she would not go easy on that steak.
