My HC is that they both read each other completely wrong at first meeting so Vimes thinks Drumknott is petty (which tbf he is) and looks down on him because he's lower class; while Drumknott thinks Vimes is just like every other noble aka a complete arse. It's fun to sort of play them off each other. I'm glad you liked it!
