And may the best competitor win! Competitions, of any type, are guaranteed to bring out something in the characters involved – but that something may not always be a good thing! Are they uncharacteristically aggressive or overconfident? Do they get invested in the competition to the detriment of other important things? Do they struggle with their own worth or self-confidence? Or do they handle competition so well it’s practically effortless, whether they win or lose? Write a story about competition. BONUS GOAL: “I don’t think fireworks are strictly necessary.” If your story includes this line, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting!
