Summary: Things aren't always what they seem to be, folks...
“Why do they call it cling,” Parker asked, carefully wrapping plastic around their treasures.
Beside her, Hardison shrugged. “Because it clings?”
She paused, pondering the issue as if contemplating the mysteries of the universe. “Makes sense.”
“Really,” Alec agreed emphatically as he fought to keep from getting the Saran caught around his hands instead of the valuables. “We need to step on it,” he reminded, nervously glancing around. They didn’t have much time to complete the job, and there would be dire consequences for failure.
“I know what I’m doing!” Parker responded, immediately disproving it when the plastic became twisted. Sorting it out was nearly impossible.
“Let’s go, Parker!” Hardison hurried her up, lending his own hands when words didn’t do the trick.
Footsteps coming closer alerted them that their time was almost up. Hardison quit trying to untangle the wrap, resorting to ripping the end with his teeth and starting over. Parker followed suit.
A few seconds later the door banged open, and Eliot stood there, an expectant look on his face.
“Well?! Did you get the leftovers wrapped up? If we’re late to Sophie’s opening night, she’ll kill us!”
“Maybe we should have taken our time after all.”
