Challenge 170: PROGRESS

Whether it’s a big project, a long road trip, an epic quest, or the general state of society, most of us can agree that progress is usually a good thing. But it isn’t always easy! Projects stall for lack of funding, inspiration, or time; road trips are derailed by ill-considered shortcuts, bad weather, and lost luggage; epic quests struggle through injuries and fights. Even when things do go according to plan, not everyone likes progress; some people will want the project to be done a different way, or that the road trip should have taken a different route, or that they shouldn’t have gone on the quest at all. Are your characters progressing well (whatever it is they’re working on), or are they struggling? Do they want to progress forward? Is someone trying to stop them? Write a story about progress. BONUS GOAL: “We’ve accomplished something!" If your submission features this line, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting!
