[#172] A PIECE FROM BEFORE (EXILES SAGA & GALACTIC MILIEU)
Theme Prompt: #172 - Lost Memories
Title: A Piece From Before
Rating / Warnings: PG
Bonus: No
Word Count: 175
Summary: Before her accident, Elizabeth had purchased something for her husband. Now, she can't remember doing it.
Elizabeth had spent nine months in the regen tank after the accident that had killed her husband Lawrence and almost her as well.
When she had come back to the world in grief and shock, wearing the body of a younger woman now, there had been a bit of a backlog of things to deal with. Such as mail.
She had found a package waiting that was to be a birthday gift for Lawrence; a coffee table book of photos taken of Denali's many mountains. He liked taking photos in his spare time - she remembers that.
But Elizabeth didn't remember ordering the book. She can see the proof in her bank statement and the date ordered. But there's a void where the memory should be.
She could talk to someone about retrieving the memory. But would they be making private notes after? Such as obsessive thoughts, signs of anxiety.
I have to get away from here.
It's an internal voice that gets louder each time pieces of her life from then and now collide - and break.
