Summary: Blair is done with an undercover assignment in Conover Mental Facility. How will he feel when he gets out?
Blair Sandburg walked out into the sunshine, staring up at the blue sky, tears in his eyes and realized he was finally fucking free. This undercover assignment was something else. Blair was so nervous the entire time he had been inside. Even when Jim came to visit him, Blair was scared all the time. It turned out that there were three people behind the murders at the hospital. And they almost fucking got Blair. Blair bent at the waist and tried to breath normally so Jim didn’t find him having an anxiety attack. Blair wanted to prove to Jim that he could pull this off and he did. But barely. Blair heard the door open outside and saw Jim coming towards him.
Jim walked up to Blair and pulled him into his arms. Blair fought to get out of the embrace and said, “Don’t fucking do this, here. Only when we’re home.” Blair shoved Jim out of his space.
“Okay, Chief. Are you ready to go?”
“I have to go to the station and file my report for Simon. Then I can go home. Simon wants it as soon as he can get it. The three men in charge of the murders, have to be made to pay for those murders. Simon told me he was proud of me. Do you think he just said that, Jim?”
“Simon doesn’t say things he doesn’t mean, Blair. Now, come on, we’ll go to the station. I’ll go and get some food while you work on your report. Okay?”
“That would be great, Jim. Thank you for understanding about how I feel.”
“Sure, Chief. Now, let’s get out of here…”

Three Hours Later
Jim and Blair walked into the loft and Blair walked into the kitchen and got a glass of ice water for both of them. Jim watched Blair walk around him with the extra water and wondered what the hell Blair was doing. Jim thought that Blair was acting like he didn’t want to be alone with Jim. Why?
“Hey, Chief. Sit down by me on the sofa. I need to talk to you about how scared I was while you were in the hospital. I was worried that I would never see you again. Weren’t you scared?”
Blair sat across from Jim and answered, “Of course, I was scared. When I figured out the three of them were in on it, they new the plant was me. I thought I was never going to see you again, Jim.”
“Can I hug you, Chief?” Jim asked, sweetly.
“I’m free now. Nothing beats freedom when you are scared. You and Simon came at the perfect time. Otherwise, I would have been victim number 5. I was really scared. I was doubting you and Simon’s timing on this. I never should have doubted you. I’m sorry.”
Jim got up from the sofa and pulled Blair out of his chair and held him closely. “I was scared out of my mind, too. We knew something was going on when we didn’t get any more notes from you. That’s’ why we rushed in at that time. If we would have waited longer, they would have killed you. Are you doing okay, Chief?”
“I am now. I just needed you to hold me. I would have lost it at the hospital if you would have hung on to me like this. And I can’t afford to look weak. Thank you for coming when you did. And next time, I will trust you more.”
“Hopefully, there won’t be a next time. I wasn’t thrilled about this set-up. Want to go outside on the balcony, look at the sky and take in your freedom again?”
“You know what? I would like to do that. We’ll sit out there and just feel good about being free. I love you, man.”
“I love you, Blair.”
Both men, knew there might be some bad days from this, but they were ready to take them on together.

This reminds me I need to do a rewatch. I'm ashamed to say I barely remember the episode (except for the scene where Blair is running down the hall and grabs onto Jim, that scene I remember very well). 😉
