Susie and Freddy possess Chica and Freddy, whenever one of the kids would move it's the animatronic moving
As the night-guard entered the abandoned pizzeria a gust of crisp autumn blew into the building. While Chica remained still, Susie noticed the wind which blew over the surface of her metal prison. She heard the nigh-guard murmur something about a ‘damn storm’ and a ‘slippery pavement, full of autumn leaves’. His voice, which she associated with a light-brown (a warm but rather dull color), was seldom annoyed. Usually the man sounded bored.
Autumn. That season was forever associated with her and Samantha walking over Oliver’s colorful leaves. Thinking about Oliver hurt as much, as thinking about her beloved sister. Susie can’t recall how long it had been since she had parted with Samantha and walked away with Chica.
Somehow she had assumed that she would or rather could return to her home whenever she felt like it. Yet, something has changed when they had returned, something Susie couldn’t remember, no matter how hard she tried.
What she did remember, was the time she had spend with her family and that something terrible had happened to her.
In the night she walked around the dining room, standing in front at one of the large tables. Chica’s pinkish-purple optics stared at the table as if there was something utterly interesting on it, and not a thick layer of dust.
Susie is frustrated, she had tried to make Chica move towards the door, where probably (now dried) autumn leaves would lay on the floor. But the animatronic chicken wouldn’t move and remained in the dining area.
“Hey”, she heard Gabriel's voice, turning Chica’s head around to look at her friend. She smiles as she sees Freddy. “Hey”, Susie wishes that she could say more, but what? Her thoughts are in the past.
“You seem sad, Susie”, Gabriel states concerned as he lay’s on of Freddy’s hands on Chica’s shoulder.
Silently Chica looked into Freddy’s optics and Susie was silent, wondering how it was that their little group so sensible for each other’s emotions. Whatever had happened to them was probably the reason for that strange phenomenon.
“It’s autumn. The tress have colorful leaves and the air is ‘crisp’, even I don’t know what that means. Mom said that often.”
Freddy tilted his head, blinking with his optics.
“The night-guard”, Susie began and told Gabriel what she had heard.
“I loved playing in the rain. Jumping into puddles”, Gabriel exclaimed and unseen from Susie grinned at the his memories. “Throwing leaves and diving into the big piles dad had made in the garden.”
“Yes”, Susie chimed in “even Samantha liked that …” she trailed of. As she had mentioned the name of her sister out loud, a wave of emotional pain flooded over her.
Chica gazed down at her orange metal feet.
“Samantha?”, Gabriel asked. “A friend of yours?”
Chica shook her head but it took her several minutes to speak. “She’s my sister.”
“I’m sorry”, Gabriel wasn’t even sure if that was what one was supposed to say in a situation like this but he knew what Susie could need.
Freddy stepped forward and gently embraced Chica.
Susie felt a soothing warm emitting from the metal suit. “Thank you, Gabriel”, she murmured.
Time, this strange construct which only seem to matter inside the pizzeria at night, crawled forward.
“Let’s walk while I tell you about Samantha”, Susie didn’t knew why but the suit wanted her to move, she could feel its energy.
As Chica and Freddy walked through the dining area Susie told Gabriel about her sister, who was different but if one was looking closer they had a lot in common. “She likes learning but I like playing more”, Susie recalled.
They walked past the now empty show stage and headed towards the area of the pizzeria where the arcade games where.
“I miss her”, Susie’s voice is barely audible as Chica keeps her optics locked with Freddy’s. “I want to tell her, that I love her.”
Gabriel wished that he could comfort Susie. “I’m sure she knows you love her, Susie”, he replied hoping he sounded as honest and he wanted.
‘I want to know if she misses me’, Susie thinks but doesn’t speak her thought out loud.
“I wonder if Oliver is still there”, Susie marveled, and she told Gabriel about the tree, which grew in front of the house she had lived in who she named Oliver. “Every autumn, when he lost his leaves, he gets a scarf, so he doesn’t freeze.”
“That’s thoughtful”, Gabriel remarks and smiles, even Susie can’t see it. Freddy’s optics lit up a bit more, indicating that he’s delighted at what he had heard.
Susie is moved, remembering something else, but pushing that memory away from her mind. Chica embraces Freddy, patting him on the back.
The suit emitted once again the pleasant warmth. She was suddenly sure that her soul, as tormented as it was, wouldn’t freeze, just like Oliver she had received something to keep herself warm. The love of friendship, someone cared about her.
“Have you ever spotted any of the elves, you’ve mentioned?”, Gabriel asked Susie as they returned to their place on the main stage.
“That’s a story for another time.”, Susie answered.
