[#268] JUST REWARD (TORCHWOOD)

Theme Prompt: #268 - Sleeping in
Title: Just reward
Fandom: Torchwood
Rating/Warnings: M
Bonus: Yes
Word Count: 1,000 words
Summary: Jack and Ianto’s post-weevil reward is more drawn out than usual.

‘Why can’t all our work be that fun?’ Jack asked as they wandered back towards the SUV, left parked under a thicket of trees on a gravel path that was designed for dogwalkers and not cars. Jack didn’t much abide by road laws in general, so driving halfway through a public park wasn’t going to faze him in the slightest.

Ianto was slowly bringing his breathing back to its usual slow, steady rhythm. ‘You have a strange definition of fun,’ he remarked, referring to chasing dangerous aliens capable of tearing a man’s throat out with one swipe of their claws or a single crushing bite from their equally razor sharp teeth.

‘Ianto, everything we do is strange, and you love it.’

‘Fair point,’ he conceded. Chasing weevils was what counted as quality time together, and admittedly, it was kinda fun, or maybe it was just being with Jack, seeing how much he revelled in the intoxicating peril that made it fun for Ianto. They made a good team when it came to weevils, making sure they crawled back to the sewers from whence they’d come, and not terrorising the locals.

Jack took him by the hand and dragged him the last few dozen feet back to the SUV before turning to face him, a beaming smile plastered all over his face. ‘Shall we?’ Ianto of course knew exactly what he was referring to. What was a night of weevil chasing if it didn’t end with a bit of one-on-one action in the back seat of the SUV as their reward; or simply a way to work off the adrenaline that was still coursing through them.

Ianto didn’t reply, slamming bodily into Jack, pressing him up against the side of the SUV as their lips crushed together. That lasted only a few moments before it was Jack who had hold of him, twirling them and squeezing Ianto’s body up against the doorframe instead, plundering his mouth once more and adding teeth into the mix. Playing rough and tumble was all part of the game.

Ianto reached behind him with a spare hand and found the door handle, popping it open, but it was a good few minutes until he could create space enough for them to get it open wide enough to get inside. He fell backwards onto the leather upholstery, heard the door slam as Jack’s heavy weight dropped on top of him, felt his belt buckle being desperately pulled at and then the rest became a blur of desire.

Ianto collapsed in a tangle of limbs against Jack’s body, sweaty and breathless. Jack was right, why couldn’t all their work be this much fun? He lowered his face to Jack’s, both still panting as they kissed through the post-coital haze. Jack was oftentimes aloof with his affection, but in these moments he was at his most amorous and so Ianto took full advantage, switching ravenous need for tender ministrations.

He shuddered as the sweat on his skin cooled and Jack’s arm unwrapped itself from around him just long enough to pull the heavy woollen greatcoat over their bodies. Ianto sank back against him, warmth of Jack’s skin underneath him and the warmth of his coat and arms above him, settling into the curves of Jack’s body as they somehow made themselves fit the narrow space. He closed his eyes and drifted.

He became aware he’d fallen asleep some time later. He could feel Jack’s chest rising and falling against his back, arms loosely folded over him. He cracked an eyelid open just a fraction; enough to notice that the sky outside the fogged up windows was no longer inky black, but beginning to glow with the first pre-dawn light. Jack was still asleep – no small feat for a man who usually never slept more than a few hours – so Ianto closed his eye again. Yes, they were parked in a public space, but the windows were so fogged that no one could see inside two naked men under a coat. It might not have been the most comfortable, but neither was it totally uncomfortable. He reasoned that everyone deserved a sleep in every once in a while, however unconventional it was.

He was woken sometime later when he felt Jack stretch underneath him rousing him from slumber. He let out a muffled sound of his own as he reluctantly moved, knowing he’d also awaken every stiff and awkwardly twisted muscle in his body. Then he frowned, feeling an unnatural weight on top of his lap, forcing him to open his eyes. A round, tabby-coloured ball of fur was parked there.

‘Jack?’

‘Mmm?’

‘There’s a cat sleeping on my crotch.’

A rumbling vibration went through him as Jack chuckled. ‘What kind of euphemism is that?’

‘No, I mean a real cat.’

Jack’s neck craned over his shoulder. ‘How the hell did that get in? Did we leave the door open?’

‘If we had, we’d be freezing by now and the windows wouldn't be fogged up. It must have snuck in whilst we were–’

‘Scratching each other’s posts?’ Jack teased. Then he made a strange, pre-emptive noise. ACHOO! Ianto was shaken violently by Jack’s sneeze, but the cat in his lap barely took any notice. ‘I hate cats,’ Jack said. ‘They make me allergic.’

Ianto rolled his eyes. ‘If you were, you’d have been sneezing hours ago. This just proves that your allergy is completely psychosomatic.’

ACHOO! Jack reached up to rub at his watering eyes. ‘You try telling that to my sinuses.’

Ianto sat up, gently scooping up the cat and carefully opened the door a few inches to drop it outside, unhappy at being evicted and making its displeasure known by yowling at him. ‘Don't blame me,’ he replied, before shutting the door and flopping back against Jack. ‘Well, that’s our sleep in scuppered, I suppose.’

Jack pulled him back tight to his chest. ‘Nonsense. Now that the cat’s gone, I say we pick up where we left off.’
