Whoopsie, I forgot to re-start my phone alarm that reminds me to post new challenges, but that's fixed! Here we go, back on track for the new year. Get crackin', writers!

Challenge 027: FLOPHOUSE

(noun) 1. a cheap rooming house or hotel / 2. a place that offers very cheap lodging, generally by providing only minimal services / also: dosshouse (Britain) As ideal as it might be to stay in warm, clean and well-appointed places when traveling, it's not always possible, and there are some real lemons out there when it comes to lodging. Were you misled about the quality, discovering that the reality doesn't match the glossy brochure? Is this a stop of necessity because the inns are all full there's nowhere else? Or do they simply not care, having other things on their mind? Write a story where character(s) stay in some questionable lodging, either willingly or because of unforeseen circumstances. BONUS GOAL: Peppermint If your submission contains a reference to peppermint (or canon equivalent, if necessary), that entry will earn an extra point to be tallied during voting!
