Summary: Zarah isn’t happy with the end result after they have to find emergency lodging for a few days. Certainly they could do better than that!

“It's… nice.”

Zarah shot Sebastian an incredulous look. “If this is your definition of nice then we need to have a serious discussion about what constitutes as terrible in your book because this place is not 'nice’, Bastian. This place is the exact opposite.”

“I'm trying to make the best of a bad situation. It wouldn't hurt you to do the same,” Sebastian said, an exasperating sigh escaping him.

“In all the time we've been traveling together, have you ever pegged me as an optimist?”

“Well no but--”

Zarah quickly interrupted him. “You have your answer then.”

She scanned the small room one last time and scowled. There was nothing about this room that was nice. Not only was everything covered in a thin layer of dust but the bed didn't look like it would hold the weight of one person, let alone two.

To make it worse, the room reeked of peppermint. It was probably an attempt to overpower the musty smell lingering in the room but all it did was mix together, creating a very unpleasant smell.

“Perhaps it's sturdier than it looks,” Sebastian suggested, having followed Zarah’s gaze towards the bed.

Zarah smirked. “Do you want to test out how sturdy it is? I'm game.”

The blush that rose to Sebastian's cheeks was made even more noticeable by his pale skin. She couldn't resist needling him about the recent change in their relationship because even though they'd been together a handful of times, Sebastian still became easily flustered.

“So should I take the silence as a no?”

“Ah… yes. I mean, no it's not a yes. Well a yes to my answer being no in regards to not testing out the… sturdiness of the bed.”

His rambling brought a smile and slight chuckle from Zarah. In order to save Sebastian from further embarrassment, Zarah drew him into a kiss that ended almost as soon as it began.

Sebastian smiled. “I guess the room isn't looking to bad, after all.”

“Bastion this place is still a shithole,” Zarah muttered as she began to strip down to her underclothes. “Next time we're springing for better accommodations regardless of what Hollis says.”

“Well his ship, his rules.”

She scoffed. “Technicalities.”

The spur of the moment decision to dock at the nearest town couldn't be blamed on Hollis. After a surprise storm, the ship was in need of emergency repairs. Since money had to be diverted to repairs, they couldn't spend much on lodging. The entire crew would have to bunk together in this place until said repairs were complete.

Zarah climbed onto the bed, clad in only a thin chemise and undergarments. “So you going to join me or not? And don't even suggest sleeping on the floor. We've slept in the same before.”

He undressed to his own underclothes and moved towards the bed. “Zarah it isn't that. I'm more concerned if this flimsy bed can hold the two of us.”

“We won't know until we try.”

Sebastian joined Zarah on the bed, mirth shining in his eyes. “... Always one to try the impossible.”

“Says the exiled prince who wants to take his kingdom back with nothing more then a band of pirates and a very talented bounty hunter,” She teased.

“Your faith in me is astounding.”

Zarah shot Sebastian another smile before attempting the impossible; getting comfortable on the bed. For one thing, it was much to small. Two people sleeping on this dinky little thing were bound to be uncomfortable.

After attempting to get comfortable for a third time, Zarah had what one would call an 'aha’ moment. She laid down so half of her body was draped over Sebastian's. It was a tight fit but the best position for this shitty bed.

Zarah sighed in content. “Now this isn't so bad. Much more comfortable, yeah?”

“Comfortable position wise but I don't think I can sleep like this. You know with you pressed against me like that.”

“I guess we're going to see how sturdy this bed is, after all.”
