Word Count: 692
Summary: Of course Fumika has to encounter the biggest spider she's ever seen. In a deserted school. At night. And she has to save Keita from it.

It was with a certain amount of fear that Fumika peered around the corner. "Whisper, are you sure?" she asked as they looked at the bathrooms, especially with Whisper's firm declaration that the Yo-Kai's aura was coming from the boy's bathroom.

That wasn't something that she wanted to hear. Still, her friend Keita needed to be rescued, and so she had to do it. Besides, nobody was in the school, other than herself, her friends, and the Yo-Kai that she'd encountered.

"Very sure," Whisper said, crossing his arms. He had a self-assured smile on, and Fumika wished she could be that confident.

"Okay. Here goes...." She took a deep breath and opened the door. Keita was standing there, transfixed, before he walked into the toilets. Fumika stepped in, calling after him, hoping that whatever Yo-Kai was there would leave him alone. And her alone.

And then there was a laugh from the ceiling. "Let's play! Eeheeeheee! Let's play!" It was the same voice that had called out before and had somehow inspirited Keita to come there.

Katie screamed as a large spider-like Yo-Kai dropped down from the ceiling. She couldn't help it. It wasn't a slight fear - she was genuinely scared of spiders.

"Fumika!" Jibanyan was hopping out, as were the rest of her current Yo-Kai team - Bakuroba, Honobono, Murikabe, Jimi, and Semimaru. Fumika tried to take deep breaths as the Jibanyan, Murikabe, and Bakuroba attacked the spider monster while the other three waited in reserve.

The monster danced around, mostly avoiding her fighters' attacks and taking no damage, and keeping Bakuroba busy with her healing. Fumika tried to pay attention to aim her team's attacks most efficiently.

"Fumika," Whisper said, "Did you notice that one foot has become stuck?"

Fumika looked up. She really didn't want to, but she did. One foot was stuck due to her team's attacks. Switching around an inspirited Jibanyan for Jimi, she directed their attacks as best she could. Then she fell down to the floor, trying not to curl up in a ball as her team fought in front of her.

"Murikabe! Don't Soultimate!" she called, trying to focus on her team's needs instead of her desire to run out of the room. Murikabe was stubborn; if you told him to do something, he wouldn't, but if you told him not to, he would. He was a great defensive fighter, being an ambulatory wall.

"Muri!" he announced, and focused the monster's attacks on him. Fumika tossed a rice ball at Bakuroba, which the miniature Yo-Kai accepted gratefully. Bakuroba was a terrible fighter, Fumika knew, but until Fumika was lucky enough to catch a Kyuntaro, she would have to trust that Bakuroba would be able to keep the party healed. Besides, she had a soft spot for Bakuroba, even if they hadn't met in the best of ways.

The team forced the spider Yo-Kai down, and it dropped, causing Fumika to scream again. She swapped back to Jibanyan at front and had him do his Soultimate, followed by Bakuroba's, and then rapidly swapped each of the team around to do as much damage as possible.

It wasn't enough, and the spider Yo-kai found its way back up onto the ceiling again. Her team was valiantly fighting, even though Fumika couldn't back them up or lead them as she usually could. At least she could toss food to them, even if she was backed up into a corner, and shout commands.

It took two more times knocking the spider Yo-kai down before the final blow was dealt. It disappeared in a puff of smoke, thankfully, and Fumika cautiously stood up, looking around. One never knew, after all, when a Yo-kai might decide to show up next.

"Fumika? What are you doing here?" Keita asked, coming out of the bathroom. "What am I doing here?"

"I don't know, but let's go up and watch the fireworks!" Fumika said. Keita would never believe that there were Yo-kai in the world. Fumika sometimes wishes she'd never known either.

Taking Keita's hand shyly, she headed towards the roof.

I sympathise; I really don't like spiders either *shudders*
