Here we go everyone, the first challenge of our official relaunch!

Welcome new writers, hello again to returning writers, and let's make some words!

Challenge 001: SECOND CHANCES

Everyone has things in their lives they want a second chance for, whether to choose a different path or simply to make a better informed decision, but they rarely come about. When they do however, it's up to the person to make a better choice than before... or to live with making a worse one. Write a story where someone is given or finds a second chance, whether they choose to take it or not. BONUS GOAL: Primary Colours If your submission contains reference to primary colours (blue, red, and yellow), that entry will earn an extra point to be tallied during voting!

I thought that was probably the case but it doesn't hurt to check.

I've been struck with two ideas for this one so I think I'll write both and then decide which to submit.

Always good to double-check! And you can still submit up to two entries per challenge so if you have time to write them both, that's an option too. Failing that, there's always Amnesty Week!

I might, I've got one done already, I'm just not completely happy with it so if the other one turns out better I'll probably leave the first one for the inaugural amnesty. That way I'm ahead of the game *grins*

I am juggling so many weekly and monthly challenges, plus a prompt table, if I don't write I will vanish beneath the tide of plot bunnies... HELP!

I can't speak for the quality of my writing, however.

I love this prompt and know what I'd love to write for it, but I feel like it might be cheating at the bonus goal to write a Red vs. Blue fic... XD

I just want to make absolute sure that I got the rules right... Do I have to post it here on DW, or can I post it on AO3 and provide a link in my submission entry?

You have to post it here on the community, but it once the winners are posted, you're welcome to also put it on your AO3.

There are so many entries this week! I'm so stoked but also so mad. Everyone's writing has great qualities and it is going to be hard to choose only three.

Also, regarding bonus points: does one need to include all three primary colours, or does it get a point if it includes only one or two? I think a couple of entries may have said "yes" but thought they could use one or two of the three. It'd be good to clarify before the deadline!

The original idea was for it to include all three, but I realize I was less than clear on that point in the wording on the challenge, so no penalty if people didn't hit all three on this one. I'll be more careful in the future!
