Bruce turned cold. Quiet. He went through the day to day actions, and nobody pushed him on it. Nobody wanted to find themselves looking at the haunted eyes Bruce carried with him these days. It sent shivers up the spine.

Batman turned vicious. Dangerous. Both to those he hunted, and to himself. Gordon called him on it, but also knew the cause. There was no bright flash of colors or a cheeky grin flashing from behind Batman’s cape.

His son, Jason, was gone.

Robin, killed by the Joker.

Dick had almost died, and now Jason was dead.

Bruce would never take another Robin.

He feels perfect for this kind of prompt. Nice work squeezing that dull flat feeling that comes after the initial mourning out of a fifth of the challenge limit!

Thanks! Short challenges are fun. And I liked the idea of the Bruce/Batman dynamic playing out slightly differently in the grieving process, but still having similarities.

Very well done in packing a lot of bleak emotion into such few words. I feel like the conciseness of this also captures Bruce, who I don't think is a very descriptive or wordy man.

It was fun mixing Bruce and Batman and their reactions. I wanted to keep it simple, because he is very to the point.
