Challenge 032:
STORMS

Storms, whether literal weather fronts or metaphorical life difficulties, can be a real challenge! How characters experience and respond to storms tells the reader a lot about them. Do they love the rain? Do they hide from thunder? Would they prefer a life that is, literally or metaphorically, smooth sailing?

Write a story about someone experiencing some kind of storm.

BONUS GOAL: Seafarers

If your story takes place on/near the ocean, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting!

Challenge ends Monday, November 25 at 9:00PM EST

Would an emotional or mental storm count? I've noticed 99.9% of entries are always literal, so I'm wondering.

It would! I'm honestly fine with whatever interpretation of these prompts people want to use; a lot of writers seem to like the literal angle on them (I know I do), but I think an emotional/mental/metaphorical spin is perfectly within the spirit of the prompts and would work really well for this one.
