Fandom: DCTV (The Flash + Legends of Tomorrow)
Rating/Warnings: PG | No Spoilers, totally AU version of the end of Crisis on Earth X

Word Count: 760
Summary: Barry and Iris try for a take two on their wedding.
“I’m sorry our day wasn’t better.”
Iris glances up from where she’s curled into Barry’s shoulder, confusion crossing her features. It doesn’t seem like the priority after everything they’ve been through, and after everything that’s happened over the last few days.
“It’s okay, Barry.” She lifts a hand to brush against the side of his face. “It’s not your fault Nazis decided to crash our wedding.”
“I know, I know it’s not. But I wanted so badly for that day to be perfect. One day where the world wasn’t coming to an end.”
“Bar, there’s no such thing as perfect.”
He looks at her, fondness beyond measure in his gaze. “I think you’re pretty perfect.”
“That’s not what I mean,” she starts, trying to fight back a smile. “I mean there are always going to be things that go wrong, but what matters, in the end, is that we’re here, together. We’ll get married – no one is going to take that away from us.” She leans in to kiss him briefly. “Though at this point, I think we might as well go down to the courthouse and just do it. Less romantic, but at least no bad guy can plan to interrupt it.”
“I don’t know,” Barry sighs, wrapping an arm around her shoulders. “Knowing Central City, that would be the day that some bad guy tries to come in and take over the courthouse.”
“Hey. We are not cursed. Destiny has nothing to do with it. If we want to get married, we’ll make it happen.”
“True. I’ve yet to see you not achieve anything once you put your mind to it.”
“Thank you,” Iris sighs. “Maybe we should find the captain of a ship and get everyone on it. If we go far enough out to sea, no one will be able to find us, right?”
“That’s not a bad idea.” Barry shrugs, then a lightbulb goes off over his head. “… What about a captain of a time ship?”
Iris pauses before she pushes up and looks down at her fiancé. “Do you think she’d do it? I mean, after everything that happened …”
Barry hesitates because shoving their happiness in the Legends’ face right after losing one of their own doesn’t seem fair. But, at the same time, the time stream might be the only place where they’d be able to get this done without something else interfering. “I don’t know.” He shrugs. “But it can’t hurt to ask?”
Iris smiles, then nods. “You try to contact the Legends; I’ll see if we can get everyone together last minute?”
Barry nods, before raising his hand to give her a high five. “Let’s do it.”

“You want me to what?”
Barry hesitates on the phone, hearing Sara’s genuine surprise at the question. “I know it’s a lot, and with everything you guys have going on, it might not be the right time, but it would mean a lot to us if you would marry us.”
“Barry, I’m honored. But are you sure this is what you want?”
“Right now, all I want is to be married to Iris. And we decided that we want to take every precaution to make sure bad guys won’t crash it.”
Sara laughs. “So you figure if you have it in the middle of the time stream, the odds become significantly lower.”
“Can’t blame a guy for hoping.”
“Well, I think I can make that happen. We would be happy to host your wedding. I’ll get Ray and Nate on the decorations, and we’ll head back to 2017 as soon as we can.”
“You’re the best, Sara. Thank you.”
“Of course. See you soon.”

The ceremony isn’t anything special. Ray and Nate had Gideon synthesize all kinds of flowers and finishing touches to add an edge of elegance to the ship, but it’s still the Waverider, and being a jumble of influences is more it’s speed, in the first place. Team Flash managed to get as many people as they could together, so they had the Wests and Cisco and Caitlin – not as many as they initially invited, but more than enough all the same.
And when the ceremony is over, and he finally kisses his wife, officially, he pulls back to look at her with a grin. “Pretty good for getting married on a whim, huh?”
Iris shakes her head as she pulls him in closer, and she presses another soft kiss to his lips. “No, Barry. It’s perfect.”
