Challenge 051: AUDITION

This prompt brought to you by a suggestion from corinalannister! The word audition usually brings to mind theaters, movies, and other such acting productions—it’s a chance for someone to show not just who they are, but how well they can be someone else. But the world of acting isn’t the only place an audition might show up. A determined character might set up their own “audition” to join a cause or a movement (regardless of whether or not that audition is necessary). A ruler might audition potential suitors, or spies, or any number of positions. An audition can be someone’s proudest moment, or can cause the worst terror they’ve ever felt. Write a story about an audition. BONUS GOAL: “And…scene.” If your story includes this line, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting!
