[#073 | Burning Bridges] Challenge Post

Challenge 073:
BURNING BRIDGES

Most people grow up being told that even if you disagree with someone, you should at least try to be civil about it – but it doesn’t always work out that way! Sometimes things end badly, or disagreements are too fundamental to be resolved, or someone is just tired of dealing with things, and the end result is a metaphorical – or literal – burnt bridge.

Do your characters try to avoid burning bridges at all cost, or do they immediately jump to the nuclear option? What happens after everything is over – is there hope for the relationship to be repaired, or is that bridge burnt beyond saving?

Write a story about burning bridges.

BONUS GOAL: Let It Burn

If your story includes an actual fire (bridge optional), it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting!
