[#95] PARTY TRICK (MCU)
Theme Prompt: #95—Unexpected Weather.
Title: Party trick.
Fandom: WandaVision (MCU).
Rating/Warnings: PG. Vague spoilers for the show.
Bonus: Yes.
Word Count: 450.
Summary: The weather threatens to ruin the twins' party, so Wanda threatens the weather.
Notes: This is set in some vague place during the show.
"Oh, no!" Wanda flies out of the house quickly, her bare feet smacking the cement driveway hard. "It cannot rain!"
She snaps her fingers up at the sky, the clouds growing darker until they're almost pure black. The street's instantly blanketed in darkness. She stands on the edge of her driveway with her hands on her hips and a sharp glare up at the black sky above.
"Well," Agatha tsks, "that's unfortunate."
Running her tongue along her teeth, Wanda shakes her head. "It can't be unfortunate! I need it to be nice and sunny for the twins' party. All the kids in the street are coming!"
Agatha's lips pinch sympathetically as she crosses her arms against her chest. She's slow to approach her, steps lacking any trepidation. Her hair's in a messy bun with some of the strands falling over her temple.
"Well," Agatha hums, slowly sidling up to Wanda's side. Her fingers brush against Wanda's bicep. Innocently, she suggests, "You could always change it. Can't you do that? Change the script?"
Wanda's heart lurches into her throat. "No," she says, furrowing her brows. With a shake of her head, "I can't—"
"Yes, you can," Agatha says gently, nodding. "Of course, you can. This is your episode, Wanda. Do you really think they'd air an episode where the sky's black and no one can have fun at the party? The script even indicates that Dottie finally extends you a special invitation to her Friday lunches."
Still gazing up at the dark sky, Wanda's fingers twitch. She couldn't... She couldn't possibly... But if Agatha thinks she can, then perhaps...
She looks to Agatha, biting her bottom lip thoughtfully. "What if the sun doesn't come out?"
"Oh, honey," Agatha smiles at her, patting her bicep. "It will if you make it."
Peering up at the sky, Wanda spies Agatha taking a few steps back. Both gazing up at the sky, Wanda holds her hands up. Palms open and fingers curving like she's trying to trap it in a cage, she watches as the pure blackness of the sky begins to slowly shimmer with a very thin layer of red.
And then it morphs, thick, dark tendrils of red forming solid, fluffy clouds. The red permeates the black, slowly ripping it apart, peeling the black away to reveal bright blue. The sun's round and full as it sits behind a thin white cloud. The blackness disappears as Wanda peels it apart and tucks it—quite literally—into the back pocket of her jeans.
Agatha claps her hands. With a laugh that tickles a cackle, she exclaims, "All right! Now that's what I call a party trick!"
