Challenge #009: THE NIGHT BEFORE

Everyone handles waiting for an event in a different way: it could be excitement, nervousness, dread... perhaps even an entire gamut of emotions. Has whatever comes on the morrow been long awaited, or was it a surprise that's barely been processed, let alone readied for? Write a story about characters awaiting something that's happening the next day. This week's theme suggestion courtesy of kalineh!
