[#108 | After Midnight] Challenge Post
Challenge 108: AFTER MIDNIGHT |
Some people say that nothing good happens in the middle of the night. The darkness provides potential cover for all sorts of crimes, ranging from the pointlessly petty to the horrifying, and “don’t go out at night” is a common piece of safety advice (if frequently inaccurate). On the other hand, the middle of the night can be a magical hour, a time of peace and contemplation while the world sleeps – or a time where everyone’s inhibitions have dropped from lack of sleep and literally every joke, no matter how terrible, is the funniest thing you’ve ever heard. How do your characters spend the middle of the night, if they don’t spend it sleeping? Are they out getting up to mischief? Having too much fun with friends? Watching the stars? Write a story set after midnight. If your story features the stars (in any capacity), it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting! |
Challenge ends Monday, September 13 at 9:00PM EST. • Post submissions as new entries using the template in the profile • Tag this week's entries as: [#] submission, 108 – after midnight • If you have questions about this challenge, please ask them here |
