[#119 | Heartbeat] Challenge Post
Challenge 119: HEARTBEAT |
Most of us don’t spend a lot of time thinking about our heartbeats, but they’re pretty important! A heartbeat can symbolize a lot of things: intimacy, the passage of time, survival, or just life in general. A robot, vampire, AI, or other non-human character might not have one, while a human might only start thinking about theirs at a critical moment in time. A literal heartbeat might be a joyful moment revealing that someone is alive, or a somber background pulse as their life slips away. Or maybe it’s just a reminder of a heartbeat – the flicker of a candle, the beat of a song, or a distant, mysterious drumming… Write a story about a heartbeat. If your submission includes this line, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting! |
Challenge ends Monday, December 13 at 9:00PM EST. • Post submissions as new entries using the template in the profile • Tag this week's entries as: [#] submission, 119 – heartbeat • If you have questions about this challenge, please ask them here |
