[#128 | Gardening] Challenge Post
Challenge 128: GARDENING |
This time of year in the northern hemisphere, spring is just starting to poke its head around the corner, and that means that it’s time to break out the gloves and the tiny shovels! Gardening often marks a change in seasons, whether it’s the first planting at the beginning of spring, putting out new plants in summer, or preparing the garden for winter at the end of autumn. Gardens come in many varieties, from community food gardens to tiny potted succulents in an apartment window. In stories, gardens often represent home, family, and peace. Some characters may long for the chance to settle down and start a garden of their own; other characters have the opposite of a green thumb, and wouldn’t try a garden even if they had the chance! Sometimes a garden is a responsibility, something to keep up with no matter how you feel about it; other times, it’s just something you do for fun. Write a story about gardening. If your submission includes crocus or daffodils, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting! |
Challenge ends Monday, March 7 at 9:00PM EST. • Post submissions as new entries using the template in the profile • Tag this week's entries as: [#] submission, 128 – gardening • If you have questions about this challenge, please ask them here |
