[#149 | Glitch] Challenge Post

Challenge 149:
GLITCH
n. a usually minor malfunction or a problem that causes a temporary setback

We’ve all had one of these. A phone sends only half of a message and completely changes the meaning from something innocuous to something decidedly not. The car radio gets stuck on a song that’s far too romantic for this specific situation, or won’t stop repeating “the door is ajar” even though you know it’s not. The lighter that worked just fine at home isn’t working now, and if you want a nice park cookout you’re going to have to find some other way to start the fire. Those are glitches – little annoyances that won’t ruin your day, but they might make it real awkward for a few minutes, or force you to get creative to solve the problem.

How do your characters handle glitches? Are they able to roll with these little inconveniences? Do they get frustrated, or angry, or panic when things aren’t going well? Or do they plan ahead so thoroughly that nothing throws them off?

Write a story about a glitch.

BONUS GOAL: "Well, there’s your problem!”

If your submission includes this line, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting!

Challenge ends Monday, August 29 at 9:00PM EST.
