[#150 | Paradox] Challenge Post
Challenge 150: PARADOX |
n. something that is seemingly contradictory or opposed to common sense and yet is perhaps true; something or someone having seemingly contradictory qualities or phases. To understand a paradox, you have to think a little bit differently. Maybe a paradox is a person who saves their worst enemy’s life, maybe it’s a time-travel loop that threatens to destroy the world, or maybe it’s just the appearance of a cat where there are no cats, but by definition, a paradox is something that makes no sense on the surface. Paradoxes can range from the tiny and insignificant up to world-shattering, but whatever their size and importance, they tend to require the person encountering them to think outside the box. Paradoxes can rattle even the most relaxed character. Does a sudden revelation about a friend force them to rethink their relationship? Do they spend too much time focused on how the paradox can be possible, instead of fixing it to save the world? Or do they just roll their eyes and keep going, because the world is weird anyway, what’s another paradox on Tuesday? Write a story about a paradox. If your submission includes this line, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting! |
Challenge ends Monday, September 5 at 9:00PM EST. • Post submissions as new entries using the template in the profile • Tag this week's entries as: [#] submission, 150 - paradox • If you have questions about this challenge, please ask them here |
