[#150] Absolutely Impossible (Transformers: Rescue Bots)
Theme Prompt: #150 - Paradox
Title: Absolutely Impossible
Fandom: Transformers (Rescue Bots)
Rating/Warnings: Gen | none
Bonus: Yes
Word Count: 689
Summary: Being in love with Chase causes Heatwave to act different
"This conversation is ridiculous. You are ridiculous. Everything that's happened in the last few days is intensely ridiculous.”
Chase explained and closed his optics. Primus knows what was wrong with Heatwave. The fire bot wasn’t acting like his usual self when he had been around. ‘He must have a short circuit in the wires leading to his memory bank. That is the only logical explanation.’ Chase thought, but he also considered, that there might be some kind of virus at work. Even he wasn’t sure how he could have caught one. All the police bot knew that Heatwave was acting strange and the more time passed the stranger he got.
Everyone had noticed it and Kade had even joked that Heatwave was acting as if he was in love and trying to get the attention for the one he desired. Of course Heatwave had brushed it off, as if Kade was telling nonsense.
Instead of accepting what Heatwave had just, Kade couldn’t resits and tease him some more, telling him that he had seen many girls being in love and they were just acting like him. Heatwave had just given him a dead look but had refrained from any remark, knowing that Kade would have the last word, something that bothered him.
But what bothered him even more, was that Kade had seen through him. How could it be possible that a human had deciphered his behavior faster than the bot in question. ‘Maybe because the law is logical whereas love is sometimes illogical.’ Heatwave just shook his head as Kade finally left the bots alone.
“Chase is right. I mean since when are you the first one to suggest that we should spent time within headquarter, when it’s always you, who’s outside?” Boulder asked his friend.
“I just felt like being with you.” Heatwave shrugged his shoulders.
“You confused me more when you wanted to watch a comedy at the last night movie night.” Blades remarked, turning his gaze away from Heatwave as soon as he had spoken. Just in case the fire bot would shoot an angry glance at him.
“You wanted to help me organize my bookshelf. That was probably the most ridiculous thing you’ve told me this week.” Chase remarked, forcing Heatwave silently to look him into his optics.
“Are you now done with …” But Chase cut him off and made a step forward, decreasing the space between them. He examined Heatwave’s face, waiting for the other bot to change his mimic but he had himself under control and just returned the look. “If it wouldn’t be you and us, then I would think your sentiments are a bit shaken up.”
Now that was a statement Heatwave hadn’t expected. What exactly did Chase meant with ‘If it wouldn’t be you and us’? Was he implying that it was impossible that he could have some soft sentiment towards any of them, let alone Chase himself?
Silently Heatwave cursed the presence of Boulder and Blades. If it would only be him and Chase, then he would straight away ask him.
“Unbelievable that this could happen to me.” Heatwave remarked. To his dismay he had noticed the slightly hurt tone in his voice.
“This is so true that it can only be false, right?” He had lowered his voice that only Chase could hear him. He looked at him a last time, before he stepped away, heading into the direction to the exit of mainland headquarter. In the door frame he stopped, looked over his shoulders and stated that he would be outside, if anyone would look for him.
While he was on the training ground he was both mad at himself for even allowing himself to develop feelings for his friend but also for allowing his feelings to take over his acting so he was making a fool out of himself.
Him and being in love was a paradox in their optics. It wasn’t something that fit into the image they had of him. But that shouldn’t give them the right to treat him, like he was suffering from a short circuit or anything the like.

He's so much fun to write and Currently he's my muse number one and I have something different in the making which might get posted to my AO3 this weekend.

but guess what? I am certain I found a net way for the love confession these two deserve. It just happened, when the prompt @ ffw didn't really asked for it xD

Oh, well done! Sometimes the solution pops up when you're not looking for it!

But I wanted to have a confession which is fitting for the two and their personalities.
Usually the best stories are the ones with the spontaneous ideas and where a plot suddenly gives you the unexpected chance you've been waiting for.

Most of my fics are so spontaneous I have no idea what I'm going to write until I write it.
