Theme Prompt: Gift
Title: Reckless
Fandom: Final Fantasy XIV
Rating/Warnings: PG, but CW being transgender

Word Count: 469
Summary: After Alphinaud confesses some of his most private feelings to Alisaie, she decides to take matters into her own hands and accelerate his decision process with a gift.
"You know, I am going to miss my little brother," Alisaie said. She had that particular cocky smile on her face that he knew only too well; the same one she always wears whenever she decides to make a remark that cuts into his pride with unfortunate, humiliating truths.
"L-look, that is not what I meant!" Alphinaud stumbled over his words. "I have done well to get out of the habit of recklessly storming into decisions that I have not thought over."
"You certainly have put a lot of thought and reasoning into it for something supposedly reckless," she answered promptly. She was entirely in her element here.
"Look, it could mean any number of things that I feel this way," Alphinaud answered and looked down to the floor.
"I still remember you as a little child getting excited whenever someone confused the two of us. Aaand, us swapping clothes to irritate even our father? You always seemed suspiciously more excited about the prospect of running around as little Alisaie, and sometimes you refused to give them back after we had long finished playing?"
"Do you have to strain me like this?" Alphinaud protested and waved his arms in front of his face in embarrassment.
Alisaie pushed her smile close to his face and whispered into his ear: "I have always suspected it."
Alphinaud moved away from her slightly, blushing and at a loss for words. He strained to find something to respond to her; because as usual, her cunning and piercing ability to read his thoughts like a book proved unsettlingly accurate.
Before he could reply, she decided to interrupt him instead.
"Happy nameday," she said and abruptly stood up from her stool. Throwing one last gaze his way, she turned around and walked towards the door, waving him goodbye.
"What-" Alphinaud asked, surprised and confused by the sudden change of pace, and by the fact that it was not his nameday at all.
Now, out of the corner of his eye, he spotted something, something that Alisaie's body had strategically obscured until now. A vial filled with purple liquid, glistering and glimmering with the rays of sunlight that were thrown into the room from the window.
"Alisaie!" he yelled after her, but she had already closed the door behind her. "What were you thinking?! You really should not have..." Realizing the futility of his protesting, he cut himself off and instead moved closer to the surprise gift.
He took up the glimmering bottle and studied it, losing himself in thoughts. Alisaie must have spent a wealth on this particular potion.
This was exactly the kind of dangerous, thoughtless... He stopped himself and stared at the bottle.
"Perhaps today is the day to be a little reckless."
He slowly removed the cork, he took one last whiff of the coalescent liquid, and without thinking at all, she gulped down the entire phial of Fantasia.
