[#179 | Faking It] Challenge Post
Challenge 179: FAKING IT |
That person is the coolest. They know exactly what they’re doing, and they have everything under control. Nothing ever fazes them. Big work project? They’ve got it. Lost a teammate? No problem, they’ll cover. Alien sighting? They’ll handle it. Take the magic artifact on a quest? Already out the door. World-ending apocalypse? No sweat. Except…maybe it’s not quite that straightforward. Sometimes, you can’t be honest about how you’re really doing, whether that’s stressed or terrified or in completely over your head. Maybe you’re in charge of a team, and if you panic so will they. Maybe you really need this job, and if they find out you don’t know what you’re doing you’ll lose it. Maybe you lied your way into this mess, and now your only choice is to lie your way out of it. Time to fake it until you make it! What kinds of things might your characters fake, and why? Or is someone else faking something, and your characters discover it? How do they react? Write a story about faking it. If your submission features this line, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting! |
Challenge ends Monday, May 22 at 9:00PM EST. • Post submissions as new entries using the template in the profile • Tag this week's entries as: [#] submission, 179 – faking it • If you have questions about this challenge, please ask them here |
