Summary: Blair is going to speak at the Police Academy and Jim promised to be there. Things don’t always turn out the way they want them to.
Blair’s lecture at the Police Academy was going to be in the next hour. Blair’s car wouldn’t start, and hoped Jim would be home any moment now. Blair had 30 minutes to get to where he needed to be. Jim had assured him that he and everyone else from the bullpen would be there. Jim hadn’t called and neither did anyone else. Blair was going to wait for 15 minutes and then he would give up and take a taxi. He went and looked in the mirror once again, seeing the nice three-piece suit he was wearing. The grey in the suit made his blue eyes just shine. Too bad Jim wouldn’t see that.
Blair called the taxi company and asked them to send a car. He gave his address and waited downstairs by the front door. He hoped that Jim would be there, but it was looking pretty dead in the water.
The taxi pulled up and Blair whispered, “Damn it, Jim. You gave your word.” And off Blair went, depressed but still going. Blair was sure there was a good reason, but it didn’t matter now.
