Summary: Blair overhears the latest rumor at the station and really wishes it were true.
Blair had been down in records and was heading back up to Major Crimes, when he decided to stop where he was walking and use one of the restrooms on that floor. Blair knew it wasn’t a big deal.
While he was in a stall, he heard two people in the bathroom talking.
Miller, from Robbery, said, “Did you all hear the latest? Detective Ellison was getting a blowjob at the movies from his partner, Sandburg. Do you believe that shit? Not that I want to be with a guy, but most of us would beg for a blowjob in a second. Sandburg must be easier than most people. I hear tell that Ellison keeps him very close to home…”
Spanos, from Robbery, said, “That’s just gross. You would let a guy suck you off?”
Miller smiled and said, “Fuck yeah.”
Spanos said, “Well, I wouldn’t repeat any of this is I were you. Ellison has a terrible temper.”
“I didn’t say anything, bad, Spanos. I just figured that Sandburg must be really good at it, if Ellison lets him do it to him at the movies.”
“That’s what I mean, Miller. It doesn’t sound like Ellison at all. I’m going to forget you told me. I suggest we get back to work.”
“If I can get Sandburg away from Ellison for a short time, I could see if it was true.”
“Shut up, Miller. Watch what you say about Ellison and Sandburg. It’ll come back to haunt you.”
The two officers walked out of the restroom and Blair took a deep breath and whispered to himself, “My God, what do I do with this news? I can’t tell Jim; he would die from embarrassment. Although, they both seemed to be a little jealous more than anything. They weren’t being hateful. And I doubt that Miller will come after me. He was just showing off. God, I hope he was just showing off.”
Blair washed his hands and left the restroom. He was nervous all the way upstairs. When he got to the bullpen, he smiled at Megan as he walked by her desk.
“Sandy, come here,” Megan Connor said, as she walked towards the breakroom.
Blair followed her and said, “What’s up, Megan. I have files and reports to finish.”
“You wanna hear the latest rumor? It’s a doozy.”
“I’ve heard. I wish they would shut up about us.”
“Oh, my God. Is it true?” Megan was practically bouncing in place.
“I wish. I would love to be the star in one of the rumors, but it’s just a rumor. It’s embarrassing and I’m sure Jim would be devastated if he heard it.”
“Are we talking about the same rumor? I heard Jim likes to fuck you in public. What did you hear?”
“That’s horrible. The rumor I heard is about me giving Jim a blowjob at the theater. Either way, it’s terrible that they’re spreading lies.” Blair started to walk out of the breakroom, but Megan grabbed him and pulled him back in.
“Why don’t you ask him out on a date. Hearing those rumors will probably be like foreplay. What do you think?” Megan asked, laughing.
“I’m glad you think it’s so funny. Do you know where Jim is?”
“He had to take a report to Robbery, why?”
“Oh, shit. That’s where the rumor is going around. God, I hate all of them. Why can’t they leave Jim alone?” Blair wondered.
“Because they have no life, Sandy, so they have to make this one up. You just happen to be the stars this week.”
“I better get back to work before there is a rumor about you and me.” Blair socked her in the arm and walked away laughing.

Blair got most of his files done and all of his reports were ready to hand in to Simon. He was getting ready to take them to Simon’s office when Blair saw Jim, coming towards the desk. And boy was he pissed off.
He sat down and started throwing things around on his desk.
Blair waited a moment and said, “They aren’t true, why is it bothering you so much?”
“We are no one else’s business. Why do they do this? I hate the rumors. I heard two while up in Robbery. It’s embarrassing.”
“I agree, but there is nothing we can do about it.”
“That’s true, I don’t know how you can stay so calm, Chief.”
“Because, I love my job and my coworkers, I don’t want to start over somewhere else, unless it’s too much for you to bear.”
“Nah, I can handle it. I’ll try to be more like you. Are those reports all ready for Simon’s in-basket?” Jim asked.
“Yes, I’ve been busy. I’m almost done with all the files too and I’ll take them down to records. I’ll be back soon. You can take the reports into Simon’s office while I’m gone.”
After he left, Connor walked over to Jim and asked, “Did you hear the rumors?”
“Yes, Megan, I heard them. I’m trying to forget them.”
“Good, I just didn’t want you taking it out on Sandy. I’m sorry you both have to deal with it.”
“If it wasn’t us, it would be someone else. Part of life. It’s too bad that can’t ruin someone else’s reputation. I should just kiss him in the bullpen and the rumors would stop.”
“You can’t do that! Someone will see you and it would lead to more rumors.”
“I was joking, Megan. I would never hurt Blair like that.”
“Why don’t you take him out to dinner tonight. Just the two of you and have a quiet dinner together.”
“We’re not dating…”
“So start…”
Connor walked back to her desk with Jim wondering if he was in the twilight zone or not. She’s weird.
Jim would start thinking about what Megan said. Maybe he could start.
