Summary: Jim and Blair look over the past five years.
“Do you fucking believe we’ve been partners for five years, Jim? I can’t believe it?”
“Yeah, I believe it, sometimes it felt like it was ten years,” Jim replied.
“Oh, give me a break. What, like it’s hard?” Blair wondered.
“Sometimes being your partner is hard, Chief. You talk an awful lot and you think you know everything.”
“I do know things from all the mistakes we’ve made. You know things too. What? Are you sick of being my partner?”
“Not hardly. I wouldn’t be able to cope sometimes without you, with these senses. I’m not complaining, just stating some facts. Do you talk a lot?”
“Well, yeah. Of course, I do. It’s because you don’t. Someone has to talk.” Blair could feel his blood pressure rising.
“And what about knowing everything already?” Jim asked.
“I don’t know everything. Take that back,” Blair shouted.
“Okay, you’re a great partner, partner. Let’s agree that we’re good for each other and leave it at that.”
“Now, that sounds like a good plan, Jim. To the next five years. And many more after that,” Blair said, holding up his beer to clink into Jims.”
“I don’t want to be there for that long, Chief. I’m getting too old.”
“Maybe I need a younger partner,” Blair said, smiling like crazy.
“Oh, shut up…”
They both knew that they would be partners for a good long while and they were happy about it.
