[#194 | Falling Leaves] Challenge Post
Challenge 194: FALLING LEAVES |
The nights are getting shorter, the days are getting cooler, and the leaves are starting to fall! A fixture of autumn in regions with deciduous forests, falling leaves mark the seasons changing and drawing closer to winter. In some places, the trees turn a beautiful red and gold, perfect for walks through brightly colored forest paths or long drives through stunning scenery; other places, the leaves turn a decidedly unromantic brown for a month before the weather turns miserably cold! Characters used to the lovely family walks might find themselves surprised in a less-picturesque region, and vice versa. How do your characters feel about falling leaves? Is it an alarming sign that cold weather is coming? Their favorite time of year? Do they build leaf piles and enjoy some hot chocolate while admiring the leaves, or ignore the trees altogether, or something in between? Write a story about falling leaves. If your submission features hot drinks, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting! |
Challenge ends Monday, October 3 at 9:00PM EST. • Post submissions as new entries using the template in the profile • Tag this week's entries as: [#] submission, 194 – falling leaves • If you have questions about this challenge, please ask them here |
