Challenge 196: TRUST

Trust is a complicated thing. Intact, it can hold a relationship together under incredible strain; but at the same time, it’s frighteningly easy to break beyond repair. There’s different levels of trust – maybe you’d let your coworker walk your dog, but not borrow your car – but all of them require at least a little bit of vulnerability. Some people trust easily, opening up at the slightest opportunity; others find it a struggle to trust even a little bit, if they ever do at all. How do your characters feel about trust? Do they trust easily, or is it a struggle? Are there things they don’t trust anyone with, even when they’re otherwise close? Write a story about trust. BONUS GOAL: “How do you ever know for sure?” If your submission this line, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting!
