Challenge 203: CELEBRATION

Somewhere, something has gone right, and now it’s time to celebrate! Maybe it’s a personal celebration: someone’s birthday, someone passed their big test, someone defeated their nemesis (world-saving optional). Or maybe it’s something a little more public: a religious or community tradition, something commemorating the anniversary of a historical or legendary event, someone defeated everyone’s nemesis (world-saving optional but much more likely). Either way, it’s an event, and your characters will be celebrating. What are they celebrating, and how do they do it? Are there lights? Food? Family reunions? Fireworks? Write a story about a celebration. This will be a two-week prompt due to moderator commitments next week! BONUS GOAL: “Give me one good reason why I should let you buy a cart full of fireworks.” If your submission includes this line, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting!
