Challenge 208: PARALLELS

A hero finds himself following his ancestor’s path, or realizes that her nemesis took more or less the same road to a different goal; two siblings try to leave everything behind, only to realize that somehow they’ve ended up doing the same thing completely separately. Two crimes, decades apart, use the same method for the same motive. An ancient prophecy turns out to be eerily resonant with current events. Do your characters notice the parallels? Do they do anything about it? Does it bother them, or is it a relief to know they’re not the only ones? Write a story about parallels. BONUS GOAL: “We’re not so different.” If your submission features this line, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting!
