Challenge 209: OUTSIDER

Sometimes it’s just hard to fit in. Maybe the character in question is a geographic outsider – someone from another state, another country, another planet entirely. Maybe they’re from a different time period – through something as dramatic as time travel, or as mundane as growing up in a family who might best be described as “stuck in the past”. Maybe they’re a different kind of person entirely – an alien, a robot, an elf. Or maybe even they aren’t sure why they’re different. But whatever the case, they’re having a hard time fitting in. How do they deal with their outsider status? Do they embrace it? Try to fit in? Do other people accept them for who they are, or insist that they try to conform? Write a story about an outsider. BONUS GOAL: “You don’t know what you’re asking.” If your submission features this line, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting!
