Summary: Gwen Stacey's father protected New York from enemies. Then he thought she was one too.
Gwen knew her father took protection seriously, for he was a police officer here in New York. Once he had his quarry targeted, he never rested until they were tracked down, so people would be safe again.
Her father hadn't known she was also Spider-Gwen, who dedicated the time she could to protect New York as well. It could be easier to spot crime while it was happening as she swooped and swung between gleaming skyscrapers.
Gwen hadn't known the right words to talk to him about her secret identity, for it was possible he would have scolded her about being careless enough to be bitten by a radioactive spider in the first place.
Implied it was all her fault.
Then he mistakenly thought Spider-Gwen was responsible for a classmate's death.
It was all her fault.
Now that he finally knew that she - his own daughter - was Spider-Gwen, he was still determined to arrest her. To protect the city of New York.
He didn't believe her protests of innocence.
It was all her fault.
So now she has to leave this universe for another one. Leave her father for good.
Maybe one day it will stop hurting.
