Challenge 214: PRESSURE

n. the burden of physical or mental distress; the constraint of circumstance; the weight of social or economic imposition; the stress or urgency of matters demanding attention Pressure can mean a lot of different things, but it’s usually not pleasant. Whether it’s the pressure of a major responsibility, a massive stressful project, or a particularly insistent peer, dealing with it effectively requires a particular skillset, and not everyone has it! Some people thrive under pressure and look for jobs with it, but many of us need a break from it even if we handle it well. What kinds of pressure are your characters under? How do they deal with it? Do they enjoy it? Accept it as part of the job? Try to avoid it? Write a story about pressure. BONUS GOAL: “What do you think ‘take it easy’ means?” If your submission includes this line, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting!
