[#226] WORDS BEST LEFT UNSAID (BABYLON 5)
Theme Prompt: #226 - Secret
Title: words best left unsaid
Fandom: Babylon 5
Ratings / Warnings: PG
Bonus: No
Word Count: 298
Summary: In the alternate universe of 'The Road Home' Delenn sees no need to talk about Z'ha'Dum or the Shadows.
The Minbari were known for telling the truth. What this also meant was there was no need to share secrets that would reveal unwelcome truths.
Such as the location of the home world of the Shadows - Z'ha'Dum.
Most spacefaring races knew to stay away from that sector of space, even if some of them had forgotten the exact reason, apart from 'dangerous - avoid'.
Humans were restless and curious - sometimes too much for their own good, Delenn knew. However, the vague hints she had made about space exploration to some humans had given her the news that their Interplanetary Expeditions had run out of funding years ago. Any explorations since didn't have the money to go very far.
Delenn had expressed polite sympathy, as was proper. However, inside she had been elated. If there had been the chance that humans would travel eventually to Z'ha'Dum, the chance was probably now gone.
To be honest, she suspected the Vorlons of some behind the scenes meddling of Interplanetary Expeditions, discreetly done. They disapproved of chaos as a rule, but some small application of chaos that would lead to continued order in the galaxy for the long run - then yes, the rules might be bent for this.
One day Delenn is surprised when she hears about a different John Sheridan appearing from what seemed to be a parallel universe, talking about a Shadow War and a place called... Z'ha'Boom.
It then takes all of her training and concentration not to flinch at such details. But Delenn can tell the truth when she says she's never heard of such a place. She's grateful that this different Sheridan decided not to say the actual name.
She's also grateful that he's gone back to where he came from. Hopefully he will never come back.
