Challenge 017: AVARICE

(noun) 1. insatiable greed for riches; inordinate, miserly desire to gain and hoard wealth in the form of material possessions. 2. extreme greed for riches; cupidity; from from Latin avaritia, from avārus (covetous), from avēre (to crave). The drive to accumulate material wealth has driven every civilization, in every era, since time immemorial. Since the first time people began pulling precious metals from the ground, to hoarding fine works of art, to desiring what has once been unreachable under the sea or beyond the skies, people have craved to increase their own riches. Write a story where about a character dictated by the need to attain an excess of monetary wealth or possessions.
