Title: Pretty and Practical
Fandom: Yo-Kai Watch (video game)

Summary: Rattelle has this knack for making her opponents drop their money. It's because she is pretty and charming, of course.
"They were so generous," Rattelle whispers as Katie picks the money off the ground of the abandoned hospital. She preens, as if the place was the loveliest hotel instead of a creepy place where Katie is rushing from one exam to another, and she wasn't a skeleton in a ballgown carrying a parasol.
"Generous, huh," Whisper mutters. "Don't you mean you inspirited them to do that?" He flattens as Rattell brings her attention to him.
"Why, honey," Rattelle says, fluttering threateningly over Whisper, "Of course they were taken in by my natural charm!"
Katie lets them argue. She's nervous, wanting to know what's going on. Beside her, her Impass partner stares at one and then the other to figure out which one to aid. "Let them argue it out," she tells it softly. "Happierre? Can you..."
"Iz my treat." The cheerful yokai turns in a circle, and then inspirits Rattelle, causing her to perk up.
"Whisper," Katie tells her butler, "Please don't argue. She's one of my strongest fighters."
"And the prettiest to boot! You'll buy me something good, won't you?" Rattelle swoops down on Katie, and Katie nods. She has more money than she honestly knows what to do with.
"I'll find something very pretty for you," she promises. "Once we get out of here." There is something wrong in this place, and she has to figure out what before anything else happens. She gets up, heading slowly in the direction she was told to go.
Rattelle preens once more. "Of course," she says, following Katie. "You understand, after all."
There is no comment from Whisper or one of the others, and Katie is glad she didn't take Tattletell along just in case she causes someone to say something that might provoke Rattelle. For all her vanity, Rattelle has kept Katie from dying, and Katie is wise enough to keep her happy.
