Challenge 236: COLD SNAP

n. a brief period of very cold weather Did winter arrive a few weeks early? Maybe an unexpected storm brought a cold front with it, or some other kind of mysterious weather phenomenon is bringing the temperatures down. Maybe it’s natural, or supernatural, or maybe there’s no apparent explanation; it’s just freezing cold. How do your characters handle it? Do they hole up at home until it warms up, or try to figure out what caused the cold? Were they caught out in the cold, traveling or camping, or were they prepared for it? Are they upset about it? Indifferent? Happy? Write a story about a cold snap. BONUS GOAL: Grey Clouds With Silver Linings If your submission features silver (the color or the metal), it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting!
