Challenge 256: MAN’S BEST FRIEND

Whether it’s the protagonist’s loyal golden retriever or the superhero squad’s crime-fighting hamster mascot, pets can add some fun complications to any story! Maybe your hero has always wanted a pet, but he’s allergic to anything with more fur than a goldfish. Maybe a stray cat made herself at home in the protagonist’s house when she left a window open, and now she has a cat whether she wants one or not. Maybe the team’s pet velociraptor (it’s a long story) goes on a few adventures of its own when they’re not paying attention. Do your characters have pets? Do they want pets? What do their pets get up to? Write a story about man’s best friend. BONUS GOAL: “What is that in your mouth?” If your submission features this line, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting!

This is amusing! I've just written a story with that exact same title featuring a dog. What a coincidence :)

(It's RPS, though. And it's slightly to long as well.)
