[#258] Like a fever dream (Identity v)

Theme Prompt: #258 – Scars
Title: Like a fever dream
Fandom: Identity V
Rating: T
Bonus: No
Word Count: 427

Luca cannot help but stare at the scars sometimes. Alva either didn’t seem to care about that or just didn’t notice it.It was more likely that he didn’t care if Luca had to pick one of the options.

Somehow, he was the one who was still stuck in the past out of the two.

The scars were long done, an odd shade darker than his skin. The ones on the face were more noticeable, with how little they were covered compared to the ones on the arms, bandages covering up most of them. One wouldn’t notice it if they weren’t looking for it.

But Luca looks for them a lot. It reminds him of what he has done, whatever that sometime was. He still cannot recall it all, no matter how tired he is. Alva seemed to be in better shape when it came to his memory, but he was not. Even with that, Luca refused to let him tell the whole story. He had to get it on his own. It was the only way to properly compare it and see what was missing and what was right and wrong.

But with how things are, he’s positive he was in the wrong.

Alva didn’t seem to care about the past, he was satisfied with whatever cult stuff he had until he came to the manor. Now they were both here, and Luca had seen him in a new light, if he could say it like that. All things considered, Alva moved on until they finally met again.

‘I hold no grudge against you, but if you need the time, you have it.’ Luca remembered what Alva told him. He had spent time with him since they were stuck here like everyone else, he wasn’t sure what to call that though. Repairing a burned bridge was a tough task.

Sometimes, looking at Alva made him wonder: what would he look without them again? He should be able to remember, but he couldn’t see the picture clearly. There was nothing that could fix that at least for now.

“If you keep staring like that I might actually start complaining, Luca.”

It was the first time Alva had addressed this.

“Sorry.” He looked away, far into the garden. It was a nice day, so they were outside.

He couldn’t read Alva’s mind and neither could Alva his. They were going to be in this odd limbo of feelings until Luca got himself together.

One day, he should remember. He should remember how Alva looked without the scars too.

What an uncomfortable situation to be in.
