Summary: It was easy for Jem to feel pride when she strode out across the stage.

It was easy for Jem to feel pride when she strode out across the stage, a song on her lips and a bright smile for the audience. She looks glamorous and sometimes the audience sings along with her.

She can hold a crowd in the palms of her hands. It's heady power and it could easily go to her head.

But when the show is over, Jem leaves and heads off down a corridor until she finds a quiet spot and presses her star earrings.

Then she's transformed back into Jerrica, a hard working woman looking after a foster home. A foster home that relies on the money she earns as Jem to keep it running.

Pretty enough, but looking just like a girl next door. Back to normal.

Maybe that's a good thing.
