Summary: Luke had a reputation as a dreamer back home. It's different now.

Luke had had a reputation as a dreamer back on Tatooine, as if wanting a better life away from the desert rock of his planet was a bad thing.

Most of his friends had mocked him, but Biggs understood. For the stars were in his own eyes too and he actually made it off-world. Luke had desperately wanted to follow, but his uncle had been even more insistent that he stay.

Looking back, Luke could see an almost hidden fear in his uncles eyes at times. Fear of something off-world that would endanger his nephew with his head in the clouds.

Now, after having destroyed the Death Star, people didn't see a dreamer when they looked at Luke. Newcomers expected to see a fearsome warrior twice his size when they met him for the first time... he could see it in their eyes.

Luke isn't sure which reputation is better.

Love the way you contrast the before and after, two different reputations, but how much truth is either based on?
