Title: Special Feeling

Summary: A village where it was winter all the time couldn't compare to this.
"I've never seen anything like this before."
Even discounting the fact that neither of them has ever been to Snowdin, it's different on the surface world. To be fair, everything is, but somehow there's a difference between a village where it's always winter and watching the snow fall from the sky itself. It's silly, stupid even, but Undyne can't help being amazed.
"H-hey, wait up!" Alphys stumbles adorably through less than a foot of snow, bundled in a fluffy pink winter coat that nearly swallows her and a glittery scarf tied around her neck. "Sorry, I didn't mean to fall behind! I-I just got caught up watching the window display in that shop!" Undyne laughs, catching her mittened hand as she finally catches up to her.
"Forget the window displays, Alphys, you seriously need to be looking at this," she says, gesturing towards the sky. Alphys's eyes widen under the fluffy trim on her hat.
"O-oh! Oh, wow...um, that's what I get for checking for anime displays in the shops, huh?" She shuffles up to Undyne and nestles against her, as if even being bundled to the neck still isn't warm enough for her. Not that Undyne minds; she slips her arm around Alphys and grins a little.
"Don't get me wrong, if we find an anime display I'll be all over that. But...this really is something, isn't it. The kid told us it'd be different up here, but still..."
"T-they never told us how pretty the weather was..." Summer days under a blue sky with fluffy clouds, a rainbow of different flowers in springtime, leaves falling in so many different colors during autumn, and now this perfect snowfall. "I wonder why?"
"Cause they were holding out on us, I bet," Undyne laughs. "Or maybe it wasn't something that you can describe."
"I-I know I could never describe it in a million years even if I tried! This isn't like writing a review of Mew Mew Kissy Cutie Three, this is...it's more..."
"Important?" Undyne teases. Few things are more important than anime. "No, I get you. This isn't something you want to write or describe, you just...want to feel it." Experience it, bask in the special feeling of something so marvelous.
Alphys leans closer to her, head nestled in the crook of her arm. Undyne smiles, watching the snow slowly form a soft blanket on the ground around them.
A special feeling indeed.
