Challenge 079:
FIRST SNOW

The first snow of the season can be a magical moment, especially if it’s also the first time a character has ever experienced snow. The air is crisp and cold, snowflakes glitter on buildings and tree branches, and the ground is a perfect blanket of white for a little while, showing every footprint and track.

But the first snow can also be cause for alarm. Maybe it’s a sign that winter has finally arrived, or that it’s dangerous to be outdoors. Some places never get snow naturally, and a sudden snowfall in the tropics could be a sign of something much more dangerous than a few snowflakes.

Write a story about a first snow.

BONUS GOAL: “I’ve never seen anything like this before.”

If your story includes this line, it will earn an extra point to be tallied in voting!
